This class project was a dynamic, scribble-animated video that captured highlights from the Four Nations hockey tournament between the U.S.A. and Canada. The goal was to translate the energy, speed, and excitement of the games into a visually engaging animation that conveys action and emotion in a playful, hand-drawn style.
I began by reviewing trailer footage to identify key moments and movement patterns, then storyboarded each sequence to plan timing, pacing, and transitions. Using hand-drawn line animation techniques, I created expressive sketches that emphasize player motion, puck movement, and on-ice dynamics while keeping the visuals energetic and legible. The animation was layered with motion cues and rhythmic timing to enhance the feeling of speed and intensity inherent in hockey.
This project strengthened my skills in motion storytelling, visual exaggeration, and translating fast-paced sports action into an approachable, stylized animation. It demonstrates my ability to combine technical animation skills with creative interpretation to bring sports moments to life in a unique, memorable way.
